Identify an RCAF W/O who went "In the bag" in mid-1943

Hello All,
541017 W/O(class not known) Cameron AITKEN, RCAF, became a Japanese POW on 1943-07-23. Presume he’s R/541017? Can anybody confirm, and/or add to the circumstances? There must have been others?
Just clearing some "oddities" from the FEPOW list(s).

I think this may be 541017 Sgt. Clarence (?) Aitken R.A.F., formerly R.225913, attached to 17th Bomb Group, USAAF. He made a deposition to the United Nations War Crimes Commission after the war which contains details of his experiences, and notes that he was taken prisoner on March 21st 1942 at Batavia, available to download here:

Hi Peter,

Cameron Aitken was born in Salmon Arm, BC 6 September 1915.

Held in Java, experienced many recurring bouts of malaria. Media has him returning to Canada on board the "Empress of Scotland" on 27 November 1945.

Deceased Powell River, BC 27 December 1983. Obituary has no information about his service.
