Hello,
Before taking over 1 Squadron in May 1943, do we know the squadrons Zweigbergk flew with?
Thanks
Phil

181 and 245 sqns at least.
Britta A Von Zweigbergk wrote a book about him (Tony's War) so presumably some details in there about his RAF service.

Tony arrived from 14 SFTS Ossington to tak้ up a posting to 181 Squadron in September 1942.
181 Squadron ORB 30/09/1942:
Flight Lieutenant A. Zweigbergk posted in from 58 OTU, supernumenary for flying duties. 29/05/1943 from 181 Sqn to 1 Sqn as CO

Just to add to my previous post
Tony Zweigbergk was OC 245 sqn in 1944/45
Excellent! Flying instructor before joining 181 was the missing part.
Thanks to both of you
Phil
Slight correction to Mojmir's post in respect of 1939. It's Central Flying School, RAF Upavon - there is no 'Downs' in the airfield's name.
(I was a forecaster at Upavon in the 1960's.)

Thank you very much Brian. Next time I'll use (sic).
