    Default Seeking obit, A.P. Campbell

Group Captain Archibald Patrick Campbell, CBE, RCAF, transferred to the RAF on 17 May 1944, stating that he felt a greater affiliation with Britain. He was subsequently awarded an American DFC (14 June 1946) and retired from the RAF on 21 November 1953.

I am seeking information about his movements and accomplishments after his transfer to the RAF, and suspect that an obituary notice might provide something. Entry to the Times Archive eludes me, so I appeal to anyone who might be able to supply an obituary for this officer, or any other information relating to his career, 1944-53.

Incidentally, if I can secure an obituary (constitiuting proof of death) I will be able to access his old RCAF file.

    Hugh,

No obit. I'm afraid but there are some basic details on:

Is this him? You coudl order his death certificate?

Birth date matches that of the RAfWeb site but not the death. Also, another middle initial.

Bruno Lecaplain may have something on his time as SASO 38 Grp. I was a short posting as 38 Grp disbanded on 1 Feb 51. His final posting as Air Attache Cairo probably didn't over-work him!!!
