Oxford 3526 - possible loss 16/11/1942

Dear All,

I was wondering if any members have details regarding the possible loss of an Oxford of 44 Air School on the 16th November 1942?

The pilot was named Gibson, and the log book for J. L. England states "HB5 - Exercise not completed - Bailed Out".

Any help would be great.

The Air Britain 'Oxford Consul & Envoy File' page 240 has the following:

3526 (formerly AT650) - 44 AS 21.4.42; control lost in stall, crew bailed out, crashed at Roorkop Flats bomb range, 16.11.42
