Default P/O Victor Rehse - SAAF

Came across an interesting account of a Pilot Officer Victor Rehse who served in the RAF as a SAAF personnel. Apparently, he flew Spitfires/Hurricanes in the Battle of Britain and subsequently served in North Africa in P40 Kittyhawks. I am unable to find any mention of him online. According to the person, he retired from the RAF in 1946 and served in the SAAF for many years. Could anyone let me know if he comes up in any SAAF/RAF records search?

    Hello,

    Re: your P/O Victor REHSE.

No mention in the official lists of participants in the Battle of Britain:

    https://bbm.org.uk/the-airmen/british-airmen-list-r/

    https://bbm.org.uk/the-airmen/south-africa-airmen-list/

The only pilot vaguely resembling "Victor REHSE, is:

    http://www.bbm.org.uk/airmen/Rees.htm

No mention in the indices of The History of the Mediterranean Air War Vols.1-4.

I have extensive listings of fighter pilots that served in the SAAF/RAF 1939-1945. Rehse is not mentioned once in these listings.

And there is no mention of a "Rehse" in the 3-volume official History of the SAAF 1939-1945.

Posted without comment - but I know what I think about the sentence “ Victor Rehse's son told me that his father flew underneath the London Bridge during the Battle of Britain while chasing a Me10 9 and shooting the Luftwaffe pilot down. ”

Yes, I found all of these worthpoint/ebay accounts. My alarms were going off on some of the things mentioned and the fact that I couldn't find a single mention of him on an official source. Thank you for confirming my suspicions.
