RAF Senior Officers during WW2 - Service Numbers needed

I have a list of 297 senior officers/officials of the RAF for whom I do not have service numbers.. Either they dont have any service number or their service number is less than 10000

Can folks take a look at this sheet in the link ? You can also directly put the service number in the first column if you know it

I don’t think any above Group Captain in 1939 had a service number announced in London Gazette - they may not have even had them allocated but I think they did

Some recent examples from FE c1942

Maltby Paul Copeland Air VM: 1199 in Stubbs
Modin Charles Oscar Frithiof Air Com: 6103 in Stubbs
Staton William Ernest Air Com: 4225 in Stubbs & Mansell Mukden roll

Its a hit or miss paul.. These are all names taken from the awards lists. There were 671 names I ended up without any numbers..

After combing that list - and comparing with the LGIndex search i have here, I was able to get about 360 names or so.. the challenge is that in the LGIndex, I do not have numbers less than 10000.

Searching on the forum and elsewhere got another 17 entries with numbers less than 10000.. some examples

I am hoping there are other four digit numbers out there that might apply to some of these blokes.. like Don has identified..

Hello All,
I have just picked out a couple from the 'A's and 'B's in Malcolm's excellent RAFWEB Air Officer Biographies.
Don't know if he has them listed (would save flogging tediously through the list one by one).
I didn't go any further because AVM Atcherley's is 05168 and I can't get the cell in yr s/sht to display the leading 'zero'! (I know how to do it in Excel!).

Hi Pete, just add them without the leading zero. it doesnt matter.

I think whatever screen scraper London Gazette are using is not working 100% any 9xxxxx are AAF numbers
