Hi,

I am reading Lysander Special by Bruce Robertson. The chapter Fighter Command Operations and Training starts with the allocation of 12 Lysanders from Army Co-operation Wings for off-shore sea searching in July 1940 but the following sentence caught my attention.

Apart from rescue work Lysanders stationed in the North took over convoy escort duties from fighter squadrons when they left for the more active sectors in the south.

Which Lysander units were involved in convoy escort? I assume the Lysanders used for air/sea rescue were to few and some Army Co-operation units must have been involved.

Thanks in advance
Peter
