Help With a Young Palestine Airman POW If You Please

Hello All,
One of our clients on the Euro/Africa POW db is 774529 AC2 P Geiringer.
I cannot locate the Surname origin, but the Service Number indicates Palestinian* origin, mid-1940.
Does anybody know where/why/how he ‘went in the bag’ - and his Forename?

P(aul) Geiringer and the fake name
Garry Patrick which he introduced in captivity
To hide his German Jewish origin.
