Can the RAF Aircraft Serials database be amended?
The headline date for the loss of Blenheim N6191 is 1 Oct 40:

but as per the references, it was actually lost on 30 Sep 40.

Done. The data was compiled i think based on the AB serial entries . but extrapolating it with other records - CWGC, AIR81 etc is certainly highlighting the discrepancies. Thanks for catching that.
Here's a second one needing amending:

As per the references, this loss was on 30 Aug 40.

Thanks Andy, I merged both this and the old thread so that we have a common thread for future updates as well.
For those wondering what it is about, Andy is providing corrections to a list of aircraft losses that Henk had put together - based on various serials listings etc IN a lot of cases these differ by a day or so. I ran a query yesterday comparing the dates in the DB with the dates of casualties as mentioned in CWGC and many discrepancies came up.
Nearly 3300 entries were corrected based on the date of death in CWGC - In Henk's list these were listed a day later. In some cases - exactly an year later..
That still leaves a some 260 entries where the accident date does not match with the casualties listed in the CWGC DB.. many them could be valid entries... and most would likely need individual investigation and updates.
This does not include other entries that did not have fatalities recorded against them.. those need to be validated against other sources.
