Kate Reid WAAF RAF Swannington.

Hi All,

I’m looking for any relative of Kate (Katherine) Reid who was I assume in the WAAF as she wrote a letter from hut 26, RAF Swannington. Also can anyone tell me what type of base RAF Swannington was in WW2.

She was a R/T operator in the control tower at RAF Waltham (Grimsby) The home of 100 Sqn.

Hi John. Kate Reid published a book of her poetry, very limited numbers, entitled One WAAFs War, which describes her life in the RAF in poetry. Due to her stature, she was knicknamed 'half pint'. I have no info about her family, I'm afraid.
