Wishing everyone here a very Merry Christmas and that we can all get past this terrible pandemic in the New Year.

I also want to thank everyone again who has stepped up and answered my specific questions and those who have provided me with documents and other material for my research. I won’t single out anyone in particular in case I leave anyone out by accident, but you know who you are. Know that it has all been much appreciated.

Christmas will be very quiet this year. Just the two of us, but I will be enjoying 2 lbs of fine English Stilton and several more pounds of a particularly fine cheddar-type cheese from New Zealand. Not to mention a very nice 12 year old rum and some fine port and Pacific Northwest IPAs.

Yes, it is seasons greetings, so Merry Christmas to all and an Happy New year 2021. I guess that we are all happy to see 2020 coming to an end. With what happened this year, 2021 can only be better...normally!!

Thanks to all, very sincerely, for all the help this year with all my questions about arcane subjects...this forum has helped me get to know my father better, and I am very grateful!
To add to Resmorah's original post, I would add to the list of those who are "on duty", Prison Officers (or Correctional Officers here in Canada). With my seniority I don't have to work at Christmas any more, but
many do...instead of being with their families, they spend a long shift with the worst of the worst. And with COVID protocols, they cant even share a "pot luck" meal like we used to.
