    Default Non-WW2 Long shot

    Hi all

a very long-shot request. Near the bottom of this newspaper article is a picture from 1990. What caught my eye was the African/Caribbean/Black British (?) officer. One has to accept the fact that times were different back then (I know it os only 30 years ago but still...), and hence my confusion of seeing a black officer. I'm erring on the side that he is a West Indian officer but I don't know enough about their uniforms to be sure.

    Any info gratefully received

    cheers

He's a black RAF officer. They did exist in 1990, Amrit.

I worked in MoD briefly in 1987 and worked alongside an RAF Officer of Asian/Indian descent at that time..

There were at least two (what we would now call) "ethnic minority" Officer Cadets on my intake in 1983.
