I have this record of Vengeance AN923 crashing at the firing range while flying from 151 OTU at Peshawar. Taken from the ORB.
http://www.rafcommands.com/database/...php?uniq=AN923
Date of Crash 23 May 44 Aircraft Name Vengeance I Serial Number AN923 Unit 151 OTU Operating Airfield Risalpur Country Aircrew details Plt Offr Quazi* and Sgt BOSE Details Cr at firing range. Hit ground at shallow angle, recovered and broke up Source ORB
Now the challenge is I dont find related entries in CWGC.
https://www.cwgc.org/find-records/fi...dditionalInfo=
Above Link filters all Indian Air Force Deaths between 20-May and 25 May 1944
it gives me six deaths.
our own CWGC DB gives me causes of deaths for all except for these two :
http://www.rafcommands.com/database/...ame=&serialno=
Pilot Officer ABDUL MAJID KHAN (2625) RIAF 1944-05-23 India Delhi / Karachi 1939-1945 War
Aircraftman 2nd Class AMIN-UL-HAQ (IND/33352) RIAF 1944-05-23 Singapore Singapore Memorial
Abdul Majid Khan with 2625 appears to be the right seniority to be training in Peshawar on this date. but there is no record of Sgt Bose. If you take it that the ORB has incorrectly recorded A M Khans name as Qazi .. then Sgt Bose
Have I stumbled onto one/two unrecorded deaths in CWGC? or did Sgt Bose Survive somehow..
(The ORB does not leave any doubt - it says "ac appeared to have hit the ground at a shallow angle, while recovering from dive and broke upinto three pieces iover a wide area. Categorised ES there was little left to salvage by No.144 RSU)
The IAF list confirms that his full name was
P/O Abdul Maajid Khan Qazi 2625 GD(P)
That leaves Sgt Bose unaccounted for literally
