"Tiny" Hall (35 Squadron)

Can anyone assist with identifying service number / forenames of "Tiny" Hall who served with No 35 Squadron. A post war article suggests that he was RCAF (with a USAAF connection) and I have the initials FW and a reference to "Frank".

Any help would be much appreciated

Technical Sergeant Frank "Tiny" Hall was the M/U gunner in S/L Chidgeys crew. I don't have his middel name or servicenumber.

He was an american of the most colorful kind. He went to Canada to join in the war early. He swapped over to the American AIR Force later on, but stayed in Bomber Command. He got a long with everybody, even Group Captain Menaul. I think he had done a tour on Wellingtons before joining 35 sqn.

I think you have the crew pictures, where his is both in flying gear and in more formal uniform.

As John mentioned there are photos of him (with crew) of which I also have copies (from John). My Dad knew of him and was indeed a colourful character. Dad's most notable recollection of him were his noting's in the guard house leave book where the aircrew where required to give a leave address. Apparently "Tiny" used to put 'nearest haystack' as he was apparently quite popular with the ladies.

My enquiry arose from the discovery of a photograph of the Chidgey crew, which I posted on the relevant web page yesterday https://35squadron.wordpress.com/2019/10/29/chidgey-ej/

It may be that others in the photo can be identified (or perhaps the photos that you have are better quality) ... mine came out of Glimlamp

Hello Pete. There is a Frank W Hall with a service No: 10601411 which is part of the block of service number allotted to members resigning from the RCAF overseas. He would of had a "R" service number in the RCAF which are not in the Canada Gazette.

Hello,
For interest's sake, Brian Stoker had flown a first tour as Sgt. navigator ( commissioned 16/2/43 ) with 103 Sqn 11/42 - 4/43, mostly with the Temperley crew and was posted to 30 O.T.U. 25/4/43.
