161350 LAC George James RUSSELL RAAF (of No.1 Survey Flight, Canberra), was found dead in the gas-filled kitchen of his 415 Enmore Road, Marrickville, NSW home on 28 September, 1946. The cause of death was given as gas poisoning (suspected suicide).

DEWAR, William Ramsay - F/O - 186249 - the National Probate Calendar records that he died at Northallerton. The Berwickshire News and General Advertiser of October 1st 1946 reported the following:

Death of Chirnside Airman
The death has occurred at Northallerton of Flying Officer Ramsay Dewar, R.A.F., only son of Mr. and Mrs. Duncan Dewar, Croftfield, Chirnside, at the age of 23.
First joining the R.A.F. in the early part of the war, he was soon flying over Germany as a Flight Sergeant Engineer. Two years ago he was commissioned and sent to India in March, 1945.
In India he did a good deal of flying as an instructor/ F/O Dewar fell ill some months ago and was flown back to Northallerton hospital, when his parents were sent for. He died before they arrived.

Sorry, seem to have overlooked Lambert - thanks for the post Malcolm. The National Probate Calendar records that he died at Walhain St. Paul, Province de Brabant.

William Ramsay Dewar 186249 , was previously attached to 355 Squadron but was currently attached to Number 1 PHU, he had been admitted seriously ill to the British military hospital, Bombay on 16 August 1946 and was evacuated to the U.K. and admitted to RAF hospital Northallerton, where he died at 00:30 hours of lymphatic leukaemia with his Father of Croftsfield, Chirnside, Berwick at his bedside
