Armitage confirmed as killed 60 miles north-west of Lyons after a forced landing when the port engine failed. The pilot was criticised for some mistakes and did not carry a parachute. He was also thought too inexperienced on type to be engaged on ferrying duties. The navigator survived with serious injuries.

LP901 crashed at the end of a 3 hour sortie at Myddle Shropshire. It overshot and then stalled during the overshoot after the flaps were raised too soon. Beside the three fatalities, two others were injured.

Kenneth Charles Thurston 1090960 , attached to RAF Takoradi, was found dead at 19:45 hours at RAF Takoradi. The cause of his death was not established
