    Overseas GRO list has this airman as being with 40s at the time of his demise

    Thanks 'dg', that makes sense as 40 Sqn at that time was based LG.222A (Fayoum Road Satellite) and equipped with the Wellington. Perhaps Dave Gunby has the answer.

    F/Lt B.L. Blackbourn

    Died - Natural causes, Egypt. F/Lt Blackbourn is buried in Fayid War Cemetery.

    I no longer believe F/Lt Blackbourn was with 40 at the time of his death. He is nowhere mentioned in the ORB. .

    I'd a few credits left so looked at Talbots death registration:

    Pilot Officer

    1942, November twenty first
    11h 25m am RAF Station Winfield

    Shock, burns multiple injuries instantanious as cert by Keith Boughton-Thomas MB

    Person registering as an F/O from Winfield.

    Cpl Arthur CROSSLAND - 1072691 - was a PT instructor, he died of a tumour on the brain in St Luke's Hospital Bradford.
