Walley was struck by a vehicle in Chester. The following came from the 30MU ORB:

December 24th 1942, 351818 LAC Walley D, G.E.S. 30 MU involved in motor accident in Chester during the evening. He was admitted to Chester Royal Infirmary with fractured skull and fractured of left Tibia and Fibula and died shortly after admission to hospital. He was off duty at the time. It is understood that the driver of the vehicle did not stop but no further details are known at present.

    Hi Henk,

Just going through some old posts.

It wasn't Beaufighter R2063 at the accident summary card says "no injuries". The pupil pilot was P/O R L Coward.

    Regards - Colin
