Hello
AC2 John CURRIE - 1552545 - the Northampton Mercury of February 6th 1942 reported the following:
NORTHANTS MAN IN LINCS ACCIDENT
Driving home from Stamford, Lincs., Mr. Arthur R. Heygate, jun., of Bugbrooke Mills, was involved in a motoring accident at Great Casterton, near Stamford. Following the accident, and R.A.F. man died.
Mr. Hetgate was approaching a car driven by Sergt.-Pilot J. Arrowsmith, with whom, Aircraftman John Currie, of Glasgow, was riding as a passenger. It is believed the car driven by Arrowsmith skidded; it was completely wrecked, most of the bodywork being forced away.
Both Arrowsmith and Currie were injured, and removed by ambulance to the Stamford Infirmary, where Currie died some hours later. Mr. Heygate excaped badly shaken but only slightly injured.
No other 'John Currie' of the R.A.F. for that period on the CWGC website.
