CORNISH, James Henry - (S.Africa) - LAC - 55 RSU, possibly died from injuries sustained in the same incident as the others from this unit a few days before.
SMITH, Frederick Bernard - LAC - He was serving with No 294 Sqn, and possibly died from injuries sustained when Wellington IC, DV492 skidded into a truck on take off from LG91.

Additional Information: Son of Francis and Alice Carr; husband of Edith Mary Carr. of Bishop Auckland. Newark coroner was told that Sergeant Carr the son of an engine fitter from County Durham who had married Edith Mary Atkinson in 1935, had been found shot dead in his bunk on 30 October. After hearing he was worried by his health and his RAF work, the coroner recorded a verdict of suicide.

Philip Alan Sands 2207100 , attached to 24 OTU , died in Gloucester general hospital of meningitis
Frederick Bernard Smith 1182107 , died in Number 64 General hospital at 23:15 Hours of injuries sustained when Wellington DV 492 hit GMC lorry WD 50697 on take off LG 91
James Henry Cornish 1268027 , died of injuries in Number 64 General hospital at 06:48 hours as a result of the same incident. 27 Airmen of the unit were in the lorry as it returned from a liberty run.

Harry Maskery 1190887 , attached to Number 1481 B&G Flight was dangerously injured in a road accident in Binbrook village at 03:00 Hours on 2 October, dying of his injuries at 04:00 Hours the following day in Grimsby General hospital
