    Hi Henk
    Best,20, registered at Swindon,Wiltshire
    Evason,registered at Bridgend, Glamorgan,age on the register,25
    Nicholl, 42, registered at Fylde,Lancashire
From a CWGC list that I have that gives non-Commonwealth burials for which they are responsible I can confirm that Ibrahim Oray is buried in Brookwood Cemetery together with 14 other Turkish Air Force personnel, only the date is given. The list has Brookwood Military Cemetery under a separate heading so the Turkish Burials may be in a separate section
Monaghan didn't come up but he is buried in Brechin,Scotland
    Regards
    Dick

    Hello

LAC Charles H.E. EVASON - 850305 - the Birmingham Mail of March 30th 1943 carried the following announcement:

    ON ACTIVE SERVICE
EVASON - L.A.C. Charles Herbert Edward, 29 years, of 154, Hazelville Road, Hall Green, dearly-loved son of Charles Herbert and brother of Hilda and Ted, passed peacefully away in hospital, St. Athan, Glamorgan.

AC2 William MONAGHAN - 1573042 - the Statutory Deaths Register on the Scotland's People website records that he died at 10.40 p.m. at Stracathro Hospital, due to a duodenal ulcer.

W/O Alfred E. NICHOLL - 346022 - the National Probate Calendar records that he died at R.A.F. Hospital Weeton, near Kirkham, Lancs.

Ibrahim ORAY - the Exeter and Plymouth Gazette of April 9th 1943 reported the following:

    Turkish Officer's Tragic Death
At an inquest at Exeter, on Friday, of Ibrahim Oray (21), flight lieutenant in the Turkish Air Force, the Exeter City Coroner (Mr. W. Rackwood Cocks) returned a verdict of "Death from laceration of the brain due to a fracture of the skull." Oray was found unconscious on the line near Cullompton on March 25th.
...The dining car attendant, Ernest Edward Foley, gave evidence of finding a carriage door open, and of a woman telling him that she saw a man's body rolling between the rails as she looked out of the window. Charles Leonard bates, 14, Anthony Road, Heavitree, Exeter, gave evidence of the safety of the door, but added that it was possible the door had been left unlatched at Newton Abbot.

    Regards

    Simon

James Ruxton Lawson 1050812 , attached to 884 AMES , died at Cox's Bazaar in number 63 Indian field hospital of small pox. The Chris Hobbs entry is completely erroneous
