A shot in the dark, but how about Oxford LX233 MC, 14 (P)AFU, "turned after night take off...dived into ground", 23 Feb 1944: AB Oxford, Consul and Envoy File, p.171 (co-incidentally...).

    Hi Dennis

When I do the search as you suggest I still get told I need a credit to view it.

I never said you need to view it but you can tell there is a record there, for that year, for a person of a certain age. Just fill in the data you have from cwgc. I never said you get free data, heavens. But you can confirm that a name is registered in a particular district.
