Frederick Downs 85815 , was found dead in a chair with a revolver in his hand in his room at RAF Moreton in Marsh. On the day of his death , he said he had " never felt So low in his life " to a friend and his death was judged to be self inflicted

    Jon

Can I just add his Service Number, which is 1428132 as I thought that this might help with any future Google searches for him.

Looking through 1940 entries, I noticed that the entry for a Battle of Britain pilot is a strange one

Michael Duke Doulton 90235 he was killed in Hurricane R4125 which crashed South of Wennington Church, Romford, his remains being recovered from the wreck in April 1984
