As this occurred April 26, 1945 a few days before end of WW2 in Europe - I wonder if the other airman on our PoW register

There were no names appended . Only a vague mention of being released two days later from a German hospital as the front moved forward so they may not even have moved from missing to POW status

933670 Leading Aircraftman William Charles Chambers

LAC Chambers' death on 7 April 1942 from natural causes was the result of frontal sinusitis and a consequent cerebral abscess.

That's a REALLY good one to find. Fair play . His COD is not recorded in the ORB, nor in his actual RAF records
