Holmes is listed as 5 C OTU on his CWGC Grave registration Form
I wonder would T S Brotherstone from the 30 Dec who died of wounds be associated with this, Warwick BV340?
C J Clarke and R K Banks listed as DOAS
What would Lang and Jarvis have been on? A liason type?
Cannot find Crewe in casuatly lists and CWGC also list unit as 683 Sqn but that was in the Medditeranean at the time, a typo or a former member?
There is a long article in the Rugby Advertiser about A V Whites death. Too long to transcribe, but the long shot of it is:
It wasn't suicide per the the coroners opinion, get that out of the way.
He was recently returned from India and had gone to stay in the hotel from his station. In the medical opinion, he had died of 'acute and severe influenzal pnuemonia in its earliest stages, and possibly because of that, his having rolled over in his sleep may have caused him to suffocate. All hotel staff considered he looked fine the night before.
