My attempts to track down members of my uncle's Halifax crew have stalled, again, but the (painful) process has made me wonder about RAF aircrew recruitment in the UK in the war. Is there a record somewhere of which geographical/administrative areas were served by which recruiting centres? For example Uxbridge, Padgate, etc. I'm assuming there were designated areas for each which, as we know, then received blocks of service numbers to allocate to recruits.
Thanks in advance as ever, folks.
Pat.
Edit: sorry, should have opened with: Happy New Year to you all!

Thanks, Col. B - that's a good start. I have no idea how (or if) I can identify what regions they served, but it's definitely a start!
Cheers, Pat
You might try doing Venn diagrams on Google Earth for each set of RCs. That might give you an idea of the area(s) covered!
