S/Ldr promotion

Hi,

I have been unable to determine when F/Lt D.R.W Forster 124611 RAFVR was promoted to squadron leader rank. The squadron ORB is conflicting and in non squadron related files he is reported both as a F/L and S/Ldr at the same period.

Any help advice welcome.

I think that's the wrong Forster ?

Is is recorded as S/Ldr in the summer of 1944.?

Well Steve, might be error in the LG but the Service Number fits with yours.

Well in June was published his promotion to F/Lt only w.e.f.23.4.44

While thinking of this confusion, it remembers me another officer I have researched while ago, where was similar confusion with ranks. Finally I have found out that one writer used his real rank while the other used his Acting rank. Maybe it can be also your case?
