Mobile Signal Unit MSU 5439W

Dear all,

I am looking for information on the Mobile Signal Unit MSU 5439W for veteran Henry Porter who was a telex operator from 1944 until the end of the war.

I can find a lot of information on various MSU units but nothing on the 5439W.

After his training in Cranwell he landed at the habour in Oostende on October 1944. Via Eindhoven they came to Maastricht where they were assigned to the 9th USAAF. Because of the Ardennes offensive they stayed here until January. The following places they visited: Creveld, Duisburg, München-Gladbach, Holtenn and finally Delden.

It would be nice if some information would be available. We would do Henry a great favour with it.
