Hello All,
Finding the Forenames of some RAF POWs is more difficult than others. Half-a-dozen of the more recalcitrant are below.

Can I ask the Researchers/Historians of the Units listed to see if they can come up with any answers?
TIA

BATTEN - Ronald Mortimer Batten. He was reported missing in the Southern Reporter (Selkirk) of February 25th 1943. The Scotsmnan of March 24th 1943 reported that he was now a P.o.W.
DOWNING - Kenneth Downing. He was reported missing in the Derby Daily Telegraph of April 23rd 1941. A report on May 9th 1941 confirmed that his parents had received notification that he was now a P.o.W.
WOTHERSPOON - Robert Wotherspoon. Reported missing in the Midlothian Advertiser of July 25th 1941. Confirmed as a P.o.W. in the Linlithgow Gazette of April 9th 1943, which reported that his brother, Commando Pvt. William Wotherspoon, was now also a P.o.W.
I think that Jones, Carter, Henderson, Thomspon and Clarke may be a bit harder to find in the newspapers, but I'd be happy to give it a go.

Researching R.A.F. personnel from the North East of England
Ronald Mortimer Batten is hard to track down as he was originally listed as commissioned as
1006774 Donald Mortimer BATTEN (110756).1st Nov. 1941.
But if you use 1006774 on https://www.forces-war-records.co.uk/
you get
Ronald Mortimer Batten 1006774 1940 Royal Air Force
I think they just mixed him up and gave him the wrong service number as well
K. F. LLOYD ( 110756)
Hello again
JONES - Thomas Jones from Air 40 on Fold3.com. The Liverpool Evening Express of Janaury 3rd 1942 reported that Sergeant-Observer Thomas S. Jones from Mold had been reported missing.
THOMPSON - Service No. 177993 seems to be Harry Thompson, who was in the R.F.C. in WW1, and discharged July 8th 1918...? His record is on Fold3.com.
EDIT - according to aircrewremembered.com it was 950320 Harry ('Tommy') Thompson on AD936: http://aircrewremembered.com/peter-stevens-mc.html
