Was the term "Cookie" simply a colloquial term used by aircrew or was it actually RAF Code-term for the High Capacity 4,000 lb bomb? While on the subject which "Groups/squadrons" carried the 8,000 lb and 12,000 lb bombs and were these still be used late December 1944? There were reports of a very large explosion during the raid to Scholven, December 29, 1944 and as this may not be from an oil storage tank, could it have been the explosion of a a very large bomb?

Edit: The night raid report for the night clearly indicates that all HC bombs were 4,000 lb cookies, so that answers my second question.

No.3 Group was using both 8000 pounder and the 12,000 pounder up until the end of the war .

Cookie and Blockbuster were both unofficial terms for the HC Bombs - but of course fairly widely used.

Thanks. That was my suspicion as well and 3-Group was not on the Scholven raid.
