Hi,
I am doing some research into JW Caddy who was awarded the MBE in July 1940 for 'Distinguished services in recent operations' which I would imagine to be Operation Dynamo? Does anybody know if his recommendation for the MBE would be available anywhere? I think he was admin & Tech branch so probably involved in a planning or admin role?
cheers,
Rick

He was born in 1887, so would have been 53 in 1940. His award was reported in The Scotsman on July 10th 1940, but no details given.
On the 1939 Register he was recorded as a Flight Lieutenant living at Hewlett Court, West Street, Fareham, Hampshire.
Regards
Simon
