    Default Sea Rescue Flight, MEAF

    Hello Forumites
Is there anybody interested in the above unit which was based in the ME from 1941 to 1943, when it was “upgraded” to Squadron status, becoming 294...
In particular, I am trying to ascertain the serial numbers/ Individual aircraft letters of the Wellingtons assigned to the SRF. The Annex to the 294 Sqn ORB goes back to the formation of the Flight, but only refers to aircraft by individual aircraft letter.
    Thanks in advance

My wife's great uncle commanded 294 Sqn, and his 2nd log book covering this period is with my father in law.

I can ask him if it sheds any light on the matter if you wish, but knowing what most period log books are like, I would'nt hold my breath.

Thank you, Jonny. Does his logbook cover the pre 294 period?

Having checked, the aforementioned log book only lists aircraft serial numbers and not the corresponding code letters.
