According to Ocean Sentinel by John F Hamlin

While on 201 Squadron this aircraft attacked U-441 on the 20th March 1943 causing minor damage. The crew on that occasion were

    F/O William Coates ROBERTSON 103041 RAF(VR)
    P/O Stanley Cadwallader ROBERTS 127182 RAF(VR)
    F/O Leonard Keith ROBINSON 123462 RAF(VR)
Sgt Peter Ignatius TAYLOR 549582 RAF
    P/O James Alexander HEWETT 124721 RAF(VR)
F/Lt Doyne Garnet Thornton HAYES DFC 44760 RAF
    Sgt Robert COLVILLE 575209 RAF
Sgt John Lynn WILLIAMS 1077842 RAF(VR)
    Sgt Roseby VEST 1119289 RAF(VR)
Sgt James Murray O’CONNELL 414259 RAAF
    Sgt J L CHAPMAN
Sgt Michael John COLGATE 1436438 RAF(VR)

If anyone can assist with the full identity of Sgt Chapman I'd be very much obliged.

    Thanks
    Chris

    Chris, Hi,
    AIR 78/30/6 coughs up:-

    Chapman James Leonard 532664 F
    Chapman Jack Leslie 1387818
    Chapman John Leslie 2577682 NSA
    Chapman James Lewis 4191506
    Chapman John Lawrence 4263443 15-Oct-42
    Chapman James Lyon? 5081442 19-Jun-56

Of that lot I would take Chapman, James Leonard, 532664, as being favourite?
