    Default Reciprocal H2S fix.

I would like to understand what the meaning of a "Reciprocal H2S fix". Evidently this resulted in errors in position.

Jim, Can I suggest that rather than a fix ahead, it was a fix 180 degrees astern? Regards, Terry

Terry, I think it must have something to do with that, but in this occasion, confusion between port and starboard displayed on the unit? I had wanted to understand if their was some “electronic” reason.

Jim, I would have to defer; the electronic side of H2S is beyond me. Regards, Terry

Navigation wise - 'Reciprocal' would normally mean 180deg out on heading,on a compass that would mean (say) using a heading of 090deg instead of 270deg - which was quite easy to do on the old style aircraft compasses.
