Default Lysander pilots Clarkson and Dowding - Egypt - 1944 - first names sought

From May 1944 on F/Lt Clarkson and F/Lt Dowding flew an RAF Lysander on anti-malaria spraying duties in Egypt. Looking for their first names.
Info about the special Lysander equally welcome.

Task was later also done by a modified R.E.A.F. Avro 626.

    Thanks for help.

    Regards,
    Leendert

Names Clarkson and Dowding mentioned in online university 1946 thesis Malaria Control by Aircraft Spraying of Paris Green with Special Reference to Wartime Experience in Egypt by J. Spears, late Squadron Leader, Medical Branch, RAFVR. Picture of Lysander on p.11 of paper.

In Apr 1943 Malcolm’s RAFWEB shows:
No 1 Anti-Malarial Control Unit Kliete
No 2 Anti-Malarial Control Unit Nairobi
No 3 Anti-Malarial Control Unit c/o AHQ Levant
    No 4 Anti-Malarial Control Uni t Habbaniya
No 5 Anti-Malarial Control Unit Abadan
No 6 Anti-Malarial Control Unit Basrah
There may well be others times/places?

At the moment I only know that Lysander P9191 was used by 12 Anti-Malarial Control Unit for spraying duties in Corsica late 1944 ([I]RAF Mediterranean Review October-December 1944). [I]
This Lysander also was in Egypt before, I noticed.

    Leendert, Hi,
Your discovery of No 12 Anti-Malarial Control Unit would seem to indicate that every Group/Wing formation in the Africa/Med TO should have one.
There were at least 12 of these. There was, clearly, an Anti-Malarial Unit 'empire'. This must have been controlled from some central point, and by some person (possibly of near Air rank?). Where there is control from a central point, past experience shows that there will be many, many, files opened. Reams of statistics will be produced to show just how important the section is.
Discovering just where this info is, and whether the AMC Units were (or were not?!!) effective could employ you for some time!!! LOL! Good luck in your researches!!

    Peter,

It does not answer your question specifically but there are a number of items on the web which provide quite comprehensive background, for example https://militaryhealth.bmj.com/conte.../2/85.full.pdf
    or https://militaryhealth.bmj.com/conte...3/250.full.pdf

The NA has many files archived for Anti-Malaria Control Units.

Will continue search on this 'niche' subject. Work by these small units, whether on ground or from the air, was nevertheless important.
