G'day Chaps
I am hoping that someone on here can provide some gen on 1897891 Herbert Alfred Benjamin Brewington. He was a Flight Engineer with No. 429 Squadron and later posted to No. 405 Squadron on the 15th of April, 1945. He was then posted to No. 35 Squadron on the 16th of May, 1945. Brewington was Gazetted to Flying Officer but can not tell you when. Later in his career he was an Assistant to the RAF Provost Marshall. Sadly he passed away in 1990.
Any information would be greatly welcomed. We are in possession of his dog tags and would ultimately love to return them to a living relative.
Cheers...Chris

Hi Guys,
Many thanks for all of the posts on this forum they have been very interesting to read. The dog tags you refer to belonged to my Grandfathers and I am in the process of trying to piece together what he did during and after the war.
Hello Christina. Welcome to the Forum.

Hi PeteT,
I am a little confused, who is Dakota - Chris as it is not the individual who took the photography of the dogs tags are they friends?
Apologies Christina ... I had assumed that the original poster on here and the contact on the FB page were the same person.

Just a small additional piece of info re your grandfather's RAF service, Christina: his original Other Ranks service number is one of a block (from 1890001 to 1899799) which began to be issued at Euston from January 1943; he was renumbered on being commissioned.
