    Default Halifax W7850 103 Squadron 15-16 Oct 42

Does anyone know any details about how this a/c was lost...
    Flak or fighter?
On outbound leg to Cologne, or returning home to Elsham?
Chorley's book says: "crashed in the vicinity of Monchengladbach."
103 ORB simply says "two a/c failed to return".
6 killed, 1 (Sgt WH Whitwham) POW.
    Thanks,
    Tom

    Refering to Les Butler's site

    http://www.lesbutler.ip3.co.uk/tony/tonywood.htm

    15.10.42 Ltn. Hans Aüutenreith Stab II./NJG 1 Halifax 61/1 2B3: 3.700 m. 21.54 Film- C. 2035/II Anerk: Nr.41

And else where in the Jim Perry databases on that site

    61/1 2B3: 3700m [2km E. Roermond]

Which would seem to be a good start?
I can't interpret those location codes however.

    Also, http://www.cieldegloire.com/njg_001.php

These are just suggestions. Warewham's POW debrief might be helpful if it exists.

    But then, http://www.northernworkshop.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/RAFEW/assets/applets/103_Sq_-_103_Sq_Conversion_Flight._Roll_of_Honour.pdf

    it might be W1213 also?

    Tom,
If you can wait a couple of months, Theo Boiten's Nachtjagd War Diaries (hopefully to be launched 15/16 November) will tell you if anybody can!

Thanks, but unfortunately, on this occasion I can't.
Still look forward to seeing it when it comes out though!
