    Default AIR81 7957 - Sgt G H Turner

Does anyone have a copy please ? I'm trying to establish if Sgt G H Turner 754904, is truly missing, possibly buried in the wreckage still, or if his remains were recovered and his grave subsequently lost hence his inclusion on panel 289 at Runnymede

Well he has a death register certificate which suggests sufficient remains recovered to allow registration.

AIR 81/7597 makes no reference to a G H Turner and service number 754904 relates to a F/Sgt Gordon Stubbs of 51 Squadron who died on 9th June 1941 who is buried at Hathersage (St Michael) in the UK

I think the file you are after is AIR 81/7957 relating to Sgt Harold George TURNER 754905 who died in Hampden P6112 on 27th July 1941.

    Getting there! :-)

    Hampden P1162: http://aircrewremembered.com/turner-harold-george.html

As Ross mentions, he's on the Scottish Statutory Deaths Register, cause of death being 'multiple injuries (aircraft accident)' certified by J. Stephens MRCS.

    Regards
