    Alain,

    According this website http://www.geocities.com/skrzydla1/305/305_losses.html
it involved N1480 on 29 August 1942 with the crew you mentioned.

Wellington was attacked by enemy a/c on return flight from Saarbrücken.

Some crew had bailed out, but aircraft landed safely at Manston.

    Regards,

    Leendert

    Alain,
The Wellington in question was indeed Z1460 SM-N, not "N-1480"
Pilots F/L Tadeusz (note spelling) Czolowski and Sgt Mieczyslaw (not Marian) Seredyn returned safely. They wanted to save the rear gunner (Sgt Rueger) who was terminally wounded in the burning aeroplane. Eventually they managed to put the fire out and made it back to base. The rest of the crew baled out over the continent when it seemed that the aeroplane was unlikely to stay airborne for long. Sgt Mieczyslaw (note spelling) Cwiklinski and P/O Alexandrowicz were captured. Sgt Franciszek (not "Feliks") Kula evaded and made it back to Britain by October.

    Hi Voy Tech,

P/O Alexandrowicz, Sgt Cwiklinski and Sgt Kula parachuted down at Braine-l'Alleud. The radio, Cwiklinski, fell in a schoolyard and apparently Alexandrowicz was wounded in a leg by a bullet.
