Default Flt. Thomas, Ceylon, April 9, 1942

    Hello,
It has been quite a few years since I had to post a query to the Forum, and never to this group, so I apologize if I am touching on subject matter that has previously been addressed.
My question relates to the attack on Trincomalee.
Flt. Thomas managed to report on the course, position and speed of Nagumo's fleet before being shot down.
A review of the SOE and ROE fails to reveal the specifics and looking over Melnyk, Shores and Tomlinson, I am no further along.
I had jotted down at one point, "steering 330 degrees, some 209 nautical miles from Trincomalee" from a previous Forum post but cannot find the original reference.
Does anyone have any more information or is able to steer me in the right direction?
    Thanks for reading.
    Cheers,
    Bob
