    Cause of death reportedly to have been due to injuries received on the 14th of May '40.

    These two airmen rest at Ercourt Churchyard, Somme, France.
    They were crew of Lysander II - N1211 - 26 Sqn.

    BLANCHARD, Frank - Lac - 341016 - a family tree on ancestry.co.uk records that he died at Hillingdon County Hospital, Middlesex.

    BATE, Thomas Charles - NA2c - FX.78909 - ADM 104 records that he died due to gunshot wounds accidentally sustained whilst on patrol duty at Seaview, Isle of Wight. The Portsmouth Evening News of June 6th 1940 reported that he was injured by the accidental discharge of a rifle and died in the Isle of Wight County Hospital. A verdict of 'accidental death' was returned at the inquest into his death.

    Hi

    Cain - He was serving with S' Flt, 72 Wing and died in Vernon Hospital from wounds and burns sustained on 14 May in an air raid at St Thelier.

    Smith - He was serving with No 500 Sqn when he died in Margate General Hospital from injuries sustained on 1 Jun 1940 whilst flying in Anson N9439.
