    Hello

    UK
GRAHAM, Thomas Wilfred - AC2c - 971771 - his entry on the IBCC website records:

'Killed whilst defusing bombs at RAF Dishforth when one of the bombs he was working on exploded.'

JACKSON, Vincent Edmund - F/Lt - 74142 - the inquest into his death was reported in the Western Mail of July 2nd 1940. It recorded that his body was found on the railway line at Newport tunnel. Death was due to a fractured skull the result of falling from a train, but it was unclear how the fall occurred. His belongings were found on a carriage seat next to an open door at Roath Station. The Coroner made it clear there was no question of suicide.

WILSON, Willie - AC2c - 992227 - his death was reported in the Barnoldswick & Earby Times of 28th June 1940. It recorded that he had been killed in an accident, but gave no further details.

WOOD, Harry - Sqn/Ldr - 31043 - RAF - OBE - the inquest into his death was reported in the Bucks Herald of June 28th 1940. He wa found lying with a bullet wound to the head, and a revolver on the ground nearby. He was taken to hospital unconscious and breathing irregularly and died soon after admission. Evidence was heard that he a very conscientious officer, who had recently returned from France, and was anxious about certain men in his unit whom were missing. He had been told that thy had returned to England, but seemed doubtful this was the case.
An open verdict was returned, the Corner stating that there was "no evidence before me that the deceased intended in any way to kill himself, and therefore I am not satisfied that he so inflicted these injuries which resulted in his death."

    Hi Alex & Dave,

    Harold Vivian McKechnie
Occupation - 'Air Mechanic, South African Air Force'
Died 22 June 1940 at the Military Hospital, Roberts Heights, Pretoria of 'Bilateral Lobar Pneumonia - 10 days'

From the 'Form of Information of a Death' on FamilySearch

A couple of notes: His age on the above is shown as 47, however his Death Notice has him 49 years 10 months.

Also, I suspect the reference to 'American' may be explained by his 'Ordinary place of residence' being given as 44 Thistle Street, Florida - however that's Florida in Roodepoort, South Africa

    Regards,

    Jeff

    Alex,
One small typo. Hampden P4346 was from 61 Sqn.
