Default Charles Douglas Edge DFC RAAF

Not being entirely familiar with researching RAAF personnel, can anyone please provide me with a steer on how to get hold of the DFC rec for the above named officer please? The award was announed in July 1945 and he served with 100 and 156 (PFF) Sqns.

Many thanks for any help provided.

His Series A9300 file on the NAA website includes the following (page 43 of 50):

    CITATION:
Flying Officer EDGE has completed numerous operations against the enemy in the course of which he has invariably displayed the utmost fortitude, courage and devotion to duty.

Cheers Simon. I'll have a canter over there for a look-see.

Edit - Having looked at his P File, after training on Wellingtons at 18 OTU, he then undertook 'Conversion' training at 11 Base in May 1944. Could anyone guess which numbered HCU this was please?

    All the best

    Hello,

Edge was at No.1656 HCU, not No.1667 HCU.

    https://recordsearch.naa.gov.au/Sear...aspx?B=5371209 see p.48 of 50.

    and ...

Royal Air Force Flying Training and Support Units since 1912/Sturtivant/A-B,2007. p.97.
