Hello chaps,

I wonder if someone who might have access to a copy of Aviator Extraordinary: The Sidney Cotton Story

be able to confirm what it says about the post war purchase of Lockheed 12A from the RAF. I can see a snippet on google books and its quoted in Last Plane out of Berlin, that he needed dollars to purchase these aircraft and that an 'American friend' loaned him the money.

Trying to figure out who that American friend might be, and to see what if anything is mentioned about that summer of 1945.
He most likely was onboard on of the Lockheed 12A when it landed in a field in the west of Ireland that July.

This link might show the snippet I can see: https://books.google.ie/books?redir_...q=hollinghurst
