Steve , warrant officer Burchell died of tuberculosis in the Holywoid Hall Sanatorium, Wolsingham, Bishop Auckland . His brother who lived at Florence court , Croydon Road, Caterham , surrey was present at his death . He is buried in St.Marys , Caterham, although aĒ lost grave high panel at Runnymede ď and I have submitted this information a little while back to the CWGC via the IFTC project to try to get the commemoration changed and a headstone in place

Does the death cert make any mention of his service details? Might the reporting person be from the hospital or the RAF?

Good to have it cleared up.

Address, RAF and Service Number - Brother reported death

No clues as to where serving. Address is not close to any one RAF Establishment in County Durham.

I have now found that W/O Burchell was medically discharged just prior to his death and also it looks like the CWGC is going to accept the finding of his burial location and provide a headstone
