Errol Martyn, in his For Your Tomorrow Vol.1/p.178, quotes the following:

Wed 4 Feb 1942 - FAR EAST
Raid on airfield at Kluang, Malaya.
62 Squadron, RAF (P II [Parabumilih], Sumatra - 225 Group)
Hudson III AE485 ...

Some sources incorrectly quote AE495 for the Hudson serial - in fact AE495 was a Hudson operated by the RNZAF and never flew in the Far East. This is believed to be a typographical error for AE485, a Hudson which is known to have been delivered to the Far East and lost during the campaign.

JS290 - 532/20MU/527 - SOC 24.7.45.
KX290 - ........ - Direct to Russia.

What Serials hit SAAF Hurricanes go up to I see 289 existed ?

There was indeed a SAAF 290. "85 Years" says it was a Mark I, ex V7281, "badly damaged, explosive trap 24.05.41".
There is no indication of it serving with 71 OTU.
