Have a problem with these results,
4/5/44 - BARTER, A,B -Lt - 2 RSU - JG126.
And
15/8/44 - TROBRIDGE, D,A,G - W/O - 3 ADU - JF494.
Both aircraft said to be Spitfire's.
However both serial numbers did not exist. The numbers fall between series and so they cannot be correct.
JG126
Series of Mk.VIII's . Starts JG104 to JG124. And continues JG157 to JG204. Gap JG125 to JG203.
Cannot find any a/c with serial numbers in the JG 125 to JG203 range.
But could be JK126 or JL126 perhaps.
Similar with JF494
Again Spitfire 's Mk VIII's. Starts JF443 to JF485 then a gap to JF501 to JF528. Gap JF486 to JF500.
Cannot find any a/c with serial numbers in the JF486 to JF500 range.
But could be JG494 soc 31.8.44.
Alex

I’ll have a look for you boys , see what I can get
paulmcmillan (8th December 2021)
Well he died in Stranmills hospital, Belfast, of an intracranial heamorhage due to a fractured skull.. the cause is in the most illegible handwriting imaginable . I'll have to look a little deeper into another source to see if its written elsewhere by a spider that wasn't drunk, blind and dyslexic
