"A verdict of "Accidental Death" was returned by the East Devon Coroner (Mr. C. N. Tweed) at an inquest at Exmouth last evening on the body of Gerald Campbell Swainger (24), R.A.F. armourer, whose home is at Leeds. He was driving a motor cycle, with Alfred George Manser, R.A.F., leading aircraftman as pillion passenger, on Saturday afternoon, when he came into collision with a motor lorry at Nine Oaks Cross, East Devon, sustaining injuries which proved fatal a few hours later in Exmouth Hospital. Manser, whose home is at Brighton, also sustained a fracture of a leg and head injuries, but is making good progress towards recovery....."

"ROAD FATALITY

A young naval airman, Leslie C. Potter, of Bethnal Green, London, was fatally injured, at Bagshot on Saturday when he fell from a lorry in which he was being given a lift towards London. He suffered a fractured skull and other injuries from which he died after admission to Windsor Hospital."
