    Has anyone got details of crash and deaths of crew, came down near moneymore, co l /derry. thanks in advance for any help.

    Hello Fletch,
    Hit high ground; crashed near Brackghaslievegallion (what a name !!), Co. Tyrone.
    Sgt P.D. RUMSAM - 1335244 * LAC E.S.W. WATTS - 1579127 * LAC D.N. THOMAS - 530477 * LAC J.G. CHITTOCK - 1395879 * Sgt A. NORBURY - 1126809.

    The No.1 (O)AFU ORB records the following for this accident.

    February 23rd 1943, “Anson aircraft EG460 failed to return from a navigation exercise (first
    morning detail). Pilot: Sgt Rumsam. Crew 1126809 Sgt Norbury, 1395829 LAC Chittock,
    1651419 LAC Thomas, 1579127 LAC Watts. A search was instigated and the aircraft found
    near Moneymore, Londonderry. All members of the crew were killed.”
