    Default Nos,6 and 73 Squadrons - Robert F. Lavack

I am still trying to puzzle out the story of Robert Frank Lavack prior to his posting to No.37 Squadron. One story has it that he was in No.73 Squadron when a portion of that unit was flown off a carrier to Malta, where he stayed two months. However, Shores, “Malta: The Hurricane Year” makes no mention of him, and I also understand that No.73 went to Egypt via Takoradi and the trans-Africa route. A continuation of this story places him in No.6 Squadron, flying Hurricane IID tankbusters about the time of First ans Second El Alamein. Would any experts of Nos.6 and 73 Squadrons be able to place him in either unit ?

Well Hugh here I go again!
I am not an expert on either Squadron but in his three volume history of 73 Sqn, which I think is generally well regarded, Don Minterne there is no mention of Lavack in his list of Squadron personnel or the index.
